Friend?

We all have that one thing (or entity?) that we called "friend". Who are they? Where do they come from?

We meet all sorts of people throughout our life. School, work place, neighbour or even commuter. They all might becoming your friend. I've met a lot of people from mate and colleague, to friends. There are some friends who really make a significant change in your life. Either positive or negative changes, these people play important role.

Throughout my life, I've met a lot of people and made friends. It can't be denied that not each and everyone of my friends are good. Some are just plain liars. You can't denied that. These are the kind of people that make us mature, make us careful in making friend, in believing people.

When there's evil, there's goodness. (cliche). I have a group of friends which I hold dearly in my heart that I may entrust few of them with my life when the situation come. (double cliche). They are the people that hold my whenever I'm down, the people that doesn't compare me to others, the people who accepted me in their life. These are the people that I hold dearly.

So What I've Been Up To So Far?

Three years have passed since I last blog. What I've been up to? Owh well, to put it easily, here is the breakdown:

-September 2012: I've graduated for my Diploma.

-February 2013   : Went back to Singapore for my National Service check-up. Work part time in Salaam Media International.

-June 2013          : Enlisted for my National Service (NS).

-June 2015          : Done my two years NS. Went back to Malaysia to further studies. Have applied for some uni during the NS period and waiting for their reply.

-September 2015: My application was rejected due to "number of students". Hearbroken. Registered again for the same course, same university. Went back to Singapore to work.

-November 2015: My application for further studies was rejected again. No reason specified. Heartbroken. Shattered to thousand pieces.

-December 2015: New family member.

-January 2016    : Registered for the same course but it's part-time (previously it is full time study in the main campus).

-June 2016          : Course postponed. No reason specified.

-September 2016: My best friend visited me in Singapore. You never know how much someone would sacrifice for friendship and for that, I thank God for this blessed person. New family member. Arabic Placement Test (APT) for my study postponed.... again.

-October 2016: Leading a "great" life.

3 Years Have Passed By

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh...
And hye!

Three years have passed since I last blog. Yeah, blogging is not really the in thing right now since you can just post your stories on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat whatever. I'll try my best to keep on blogging so that years down the road, I may reflect what course my life have take.

Actually I've been reading a blog on someone's PhD journey. She blogs about her studies, campus life since her Degree or Masters programme. Maybe I should blog bout my Degree programme too (like I already start Degree... sigh).

Why blog? Why not diary? I've tried writing a diary but it feels funny. Haha. There's a saying "In other people's life, there's a valuable lessons that you can learn." Never heard of it before? It's because it is my saying. Haha lame.

So yeah, time to make a come back in blogging life.

$$$ when you start working

Assalamu'alaikom warahmatullahi wabarakatuh...

Yes, I'm currently "working" at ____. Not really working, more like serving. But still, dapat lah juga allowance eventhough tak seberapa.  It's not much but alhamdulillah, it's better than my previous earning. But now that dah ada banyak sangat (tak ada lah banyak mana pun, slightly lebih sikit dari dulu) duit, tiba-tiba wishlist jadi makin panjang pula. Dah la wishlish tuh memang panjang to start with, sekarang makin lah ber-kilometer panjangnya.

Now I can't resist whenever and wherever I see the word "SALE". Okai lah, maybe bukan wherever sebab I just attracted to "SALE" dekat kedai baju (selected brands only but Uniqlo for sure), kedai kasut (so far cuma dekat Payless Shoesource) and kedai buku (any kedai buku).

List of things that make me go crazy, even crazier when on sale:

  • Book (tonnes of titles in my wishlist)
  • Apparel
  • Phone (only bought once)
  • DSLR (never own one)

Since sekarang income tak banyak mana, so kita just tunggu any of the store yang buat sale. But of course, sale or no sale, I end up didn't buy it most of the time. The more you earn, the more things you want to buy, the more you will spend. So bila tengok-tengok something dekat kedai, kena la fikir 3-4 kali nak beli ke tak. So, if you see me standing in a shop, taking an item and put it back back and forth, you know whats in my mind.

My TwentyFirst Ramadan

Assalamu'alaikom warahmatullahi wabarakatuh...

It's 26th Ramadan. How fast time fly. How I remember I worried that how I'm gonna fast this year when Ramadan approaching and now, Ramadan is bidding farewell. Yes, I'm sad that Ramadan is going to leave us soon. I don't give a damn how cliche this sound. Every year I used to say that I'm sad that Ramadan is leaving but this year, I really am. Maybe it's because I am being tested by ALLAH 'Azza Wajal during this Ramadan. I could taste the sweetness of Ramadan. Something that I don't want to lose. Maybe this is what those people who love Ramadan feel when Ramadan is leaving. Verily I have felt the sakinah during this Ramadan. Despite all the test and trial that ALLAH put me through, I could feel the calmness compare to other month. Blessings in Ramadan.

O ALLAH, would I meet next year's Ramadan? or would I meet You instead? Nobody knows the answer except for You, O ALLAH al-'Alim al-Khabir. I know my deeds would never suffice.

Jangan jadi JELLY

Everyone in this world have their own problems. Semua orang ada masalah sendiri. Macam-macam masalah ada. Masalah duit, family, study. Semua benda nak dimasalahkan. Kadang-kadang kita tengok orang tuh macam relax ja macam tak ada masalah tp actually, dia pun ada masalah juga tapi cara dia meng-handle masalah dia yang buat dia relax.

Apa yang kita kene buat bila ada masalah is 1stly try to relax. Tenangkan diri. Sebab kalau kelam-kabut, sure-sure nanti jadi lagi serabut. Bila dah relax, baru kita boleh fikir betul-betul. Apa yang penting bila dapat masalah yang terlalu besar, kuatkan diri and jangan jadi jelly.

Jangan jadi JELLY

Acceptance...

I'm above 18 now. I got to go for my National Service. Mula-mula memang tak nak pergi but either you want to go or not, you still have to go. So, bukannya ada choice pun. Terpaksalah pergi. Now I'm trying to accept that. Got to train my fitness. Cut my hair already. Next is my Medical Screening.

(Ah Boys to Men 1)

This is currently hot movie in Singapore, mainly bout the life of NSmen. This movie makes NS looks like fun, and not so seram. But anyhow, fun or not, scared or not, still have to go through. May ALLAH guide me. Below is "Ah Boys to Men 2".

Warm Welcome

I've move from my old place to another place. Not really want to tapi terpaksa pindah. National Service punya pasal but never mind lah. 2years only then inshaALLAH, I want to continue my Degree.Initially I plan to further my Degree then kerja then then lah. But hey, tak semua yang kita plan akan menjadi so just go with the flow. We plan and He also planning but His Plan is the Greatest.

(وَمَڪَرُواْ وَمَڪَرَ ٱللَّهُ‌ۖ وَٱللَّهُ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡمَـٰكِرِينَ (٥٤
And (then unbelievers) plotted and planned, and Allah too planned, and the best of planners is Allah. (ali-Imran 3:54)

Sebelum balik sini, there's so much playing in my mind. How to adapt? Can I adapt? But you won't know unless you try it. Alhamdulillah my brothers and my other family members give me a good time. Whole family had family BBQ. Not complete whole tapi ramai jugalah yang datang. The BBQ SQUID is AWESOME. Makan sotong BBQ sampai berair-air mata. Hehe. Then another night my brother belanja naan cheese plus kuah kurma. Dulu tengok naan cheese macam biasa ja tapi this one pun sedap. Taste like pizza without other topping. Hehe.

Now, I need to focus on building my stamina. Orang cakap I ni kurus and expect me can jog for 2.4km. I admit my stamina is really really low. I think even elementary school kids can outrun me in track. Also I need to strengthen my body for chin-up. So much need to be strengthen. Ganbatte!

Lost

LOST. Have you ever feel like you lost? Rasa macam kita tiba-tiba lost, macam hilang arah. Rasa macam tak tahu apa nak buat. Tak tau apa yang kita dah buat. The same thing always in our mind “Ape yang aku nak bwat? Blur semacam jer.” Of course many people have felt or right now tengah rasa perasaan macam nih.

If kita rasa lost, apa yang kita kena buat? What should we do? Do we do nothing and hope the feeling just go away? Sit at kedai mamak watching Nicole David versus Rafael Nadal? (Like that match will even exist.) If you just duduk lepak and do nothing, you just making yourself drifting. You know like rakit dekat sungai or a boat dekat laut, if kita tak ikat or anchor boat tuh, confirm boat tuh akan drifted pergi entah mana-mana ja.

So do us, the homo sapien. If kita rasa lost and kita tak buat anything, kita akan jadi drifter. Mulalah buat benda-benda pelik. If kita lost, kita kena anchor balik diri kita. Tapi nak anchor dekat mana? Janganlah translate literally. You don’t really need to tie yourself to a tree, instead something that ties you to the reality. For example, as Muslim, we have our Deen. As long as we tie ourselves to the Deen, inshaALLAH we will not be drifted. Datanglah tsunami, banjir, hatta taufan sekalipun, takkan tersesat and masih dekat jalan yang lurus.

All people have something that the love the most, for example, our parents. Kita boleh ja anchor diri kita dekat people like parents kita. Everytime kita rasa lost, try to think about our parents. They are the one who care, love and raise us. They will never let us lost. Of course, you can also think about your family, friends or other people that could anchor you to reality. Someone that will never let you lost.

Choices...

Alhamdulillah, I've graduated. I have received my Diploma. Now, the next step is, inshaALLAH to further my studies. I've been thinking about this sejak dari final sem dekat IIC dulu lagi. Kita kena lah fikir ke depan, bukan ke belakang atau makin ke belakang. Thinking about this given me quite a headache. Since my SPM was so "AWESOME", I'm kinda stuck in choosing which course should I pursue. Anyway, these are among the courses yang I rasa I boleh ambil. Checkit dout guyz!
  1. Bachelor in IRKH (Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage) in Usul al-Din and Comparative Religion.*I could enroll through Track 2 except for the part that I DON'T HAVE "BAHASA ARAB" FOR MY SPM.*
  2. Bachelor of Human Sciences in History and Civilization
  3. Bachelor in Islamic Studies (Hons.) *I guess I could enroll in these courses even though I don't really understand the requirements*
  4. Bachelor in Usuluddin (Da'wah and Human Development)
These are among the courses that I have checkit dout. The 1st and 2nd are offered by International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) , 3rd is in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and the last one is at Universiti Malaya (UM) . Maybe I should survey another courses. Saja untuk back-up.
